Ways to Help - Volunteer
Just one or two hours a week as a volunteer will not only make a difference in a child's life, it will make a positive impact on yours as well. Volunteering at Hempstead Boys & Girls Club will provide you with new experiences and skills as you serve as a role model to kids and positively impact the community. One-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities are available at all our clubhouses.
Regular Commitment:
An ongoing volunteer is an individual who commits to volunteer on a regular basis for a fixed period of time. Examples include serving as an art or drama teacher, a tutor, a coach or the facilitator of a variety of programs for youth.
Special Activity Commitment:
Special activity volunteers make a commitment to Hempstead's youth for a specified duration to conduct a special activity. This is ideal for professionals who would like to volunteer regularly and build relationships with our youth but are not able to volunteer each week. Examples include a once- a- month commitment to teach a leadership course for our teens, teaching a hobby over the course of a few weeks, assisting with special events at the club or providing professional services such as architectural planning or landscaping.
