The Franklin Site held a spelling bee recently at the request of many of the members. Justin Bailey won for the first and second graders. Kenny Morales in third grade, who won the last spelling bee, outlasted Shakira Buchanan. They were closely matched, but Shakira failed to spell “Circus” and was eliminated. The fourth grade champion was Paul Conteh and Jatyia LeGrande claimed victory for the fifth grade. The Kid’s Council voted that each winner be awarded a gift certificate to Subway. Congratulations to the winners and keep up the good work!
