Day for KidsOn Saturday, September 13th, the Hempstead Boys & Girls Club hosted its first ever Day for Kids event at its Teen Center location.  The Day for Kids was developed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America as a way to celebrate our nation’s children and encourage adults and children to spend meaningful time together.  Events across the country include performances, community service projects, sporting events, and picnics.  The Hempstead Boys & Girls Club chose to host a carnival for the community.

Coach Mangini sponsors trip to ReebokIn the dog days of summer 2007, some of the Hempstead Boys & Girls Club youth were treated to an early Christmas by Coach Eric Mangini of the NY Jets. Coach Mangini, in cooperation with the Reebok Concept Store in NYC, generously sponsored a shopping spree, complete with transportation, for 35 members of the Hempstead Boys & Girls Club.

HBGC Expands to Lakeview Print E-mail

HBGC Expands to LakeviewSince its inception in April of 2007, the newest unit of the Hempstead Boys & Girls Club, the Lakeview Boys & Girls Club has thrived on increased membership and creative programming. Expanding on an existing homework assistance program, the Hempstead Club teamed up with the Lakeview Public Library to offer a wide variety of after-school programming an additional three days a week. As a result, the Lakeview Club now serves 100 youth from the Lakeview, Rockville Centre and West Hempstead communities.
